  • 1 pieces 1–2 smoked sausage or chorizo, sliced
  • ½ lb beef chunks or short ribs (optional for surf & turf twist)
  • Vegetables:
  • 2 carrots, peeled and whole or halved
  • 1 red 1–2 potatoes, quartered
  • ½ head of cabbage, chopped
  • 1 corn 1–2 on the cob, cut into thirds
  • 1 small pumpkin or squash bulb, halved (optional for fall flavor)
  • 1 red bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, chopped
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • 1 small red onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves 2–3 garlic, whole or smashed
  • 1 handful bean sprouts (optional)
  • ¼ cup broad beans or fava beans
  • Herbs & Garnish:
  • Fresh cilantro
  • Lemon or lime slices for brightness
  • 6 cups seafood or chicken broth
  • Broth Base:
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil or butter
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon turmeric (for golden color)
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Optional: chili flakes or hot sauce for a kick
